Jeff Kolodzinski, a professional fisherman and the Guinness World Record holder for "Most Fish Caught in a Day" just broke his own record, this time in Peoria, IL. Kolodzinski hoped to catch 2,173 fish in 24 hours and starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday and finishing at 9 a.m. on Thursday he crushed his old record.

Using a 10-foot-pole and live bait to catch bluegill, crappie, perch, and the "occasional largemouth bass" he was able to snag 2,645 fish.

Last year, Kolodzinski set the record for catching 2,172 at Giant Goose Ranch, also in Illinois.

Through his fishing marathon, which he live streamed, he fundraised for the nonprofit Fishing For Life's Next Gen program, which provides outdoor programs for children of military families. His goal was $20,000, and as of this morning, he had raised $15,421.
