ANDERSONVILLE — Parson’s Chicken & Fish is primed to open a location in Andersonville, marking the second new outpost for the popular restaurant chain.
Parson’s will take over the former Stone Fox restaurant and patio space at 5721 N. Clark St., spokeswoman Carrie Sloan said in an email. The restaurant hopes to open in the spring.
The Andersonville outpost will be the fourth location for Parson’s, which began with its Logan Square spot in 2013. It will open its two newest locations next year, announcing the expansion plans at a time when the coronavirus pandemic is causing many restaurants to close.
Last week, it was confirmed Parson’s would open a restaurant in West Town, taking over the former home of The Rookery, 2109 W. Chicago Ave. That location is also planning for a spring opening.
Parson’s opened its second location in 2018 on Halsted Street in Lincoln Park.
Stone Fox was one of Andersonville’s newest eateries when it abruptly closed in December. The North Clark Street location previously housed Pork Shoppe, which closed in February 2018 after a two-and-a-half-year run.
The space Parson’s will occupy has a sizeable patio, which is a staple of Parson’s locations elsewhere in the city.
Parson’s is famous for its fried chicken and Negroni slushies. Parson’s is part of the Land and Sea Dept. group, which includes Logan Square’s Lost Lake, Lonesome Rose, Longman and Eagle, Milk Room and other businesses.
