MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department has come out with an app that is says will help Vermonters find new opportunities to hunt, fish, trap or view wildlife on public lands and waters.
The free “Vermont Outdoors” app provides information on fish and wildlife laws, baitfish dealers, department news and current events, as well as up-to-date COVID-19 guidance, the department said.
“We’ve seen an increase in outdoor recreation across our 100 wildlife management areas and nearly 200 fishing access areas since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Lands and Facilities Administrator Mike Wichrowski said in a statement last week.

The project was paid for with federal coronavirus relief funding to boost outdoor recreational opportunities, the department said.
The app may be downloaded through the Apple App store for iPhone users and through Google Play for Android users.
