GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The season of Lent has started, and that means residents have multiple options around the community to purchase fish dinners on Fridays for the next several weeks.
While the COVID-19 pandemic forced some groups to cancel, many of the area’s classic affairs are still holding strong but may look a bit different with carry-out, curbside pickup and drive thru options.
Here’s a mix of places for Lenten fish fries or soup suppers organized by Catholic churches and high schools, American Legions and other groups beginning as early as Friday, Feb. 19:
West Catholic High School

Method: Drive-thru only

Cost: $11 (Seniors 60+ get $1 off), pizza and fries $5, onion rings $5
Menu: fried lake perch, fried walleye and breaded shrimp – all served with homemade coleslaw and choice of French fries or baked potato. The site is also offering cheese pizza from Uccello’s and homemade onion rings.

Cost: $10
Menu: Two pieces each beer and regular battered Alaskan Pollock, tartar sauce, fries and ketchup, homemade coleslaw and white bread with butter.
St. Isidore Church
