It’s one of the last days to get your fish fry fix from some of the seasonal spots that only serve up this delicacy during the Lenten season. While you’ll still be able to enjoy fried fish from Michigan restaurants and bars that have it on their menu year round, the churches, schools and lodges that fry fish are just about done for the year.
Our search over the last few week for Michigan’s Best Fish Fry garnered 360 nominations from our readers for places with incredible fish, from all over the state. From hole-in-the-wall bars, to take-out fry joints, VFW’s, Moose Lodges, K of C’s, schools, churches, and restaurants big and small, it is pretty obvious that Michigan truly loves fried fish. We put all of the nominees into 11 regional polls, and got close to 28,000 votes for Michigan’s Best Fish Fry.
Our coverage included stories on the poll winners in each region, as well as a whole host of stories about interesting places from all over the state. You can find links to all of our stories below.
For this post, we pulled out the nominees that are the places that really only focus on doing fish frys for just part of the year. For some, March 26 will be the last day they are serving. Some will do one more week of fish fry, and finish on April 2, Good Friday. Others might have a few more weeks of fish to go.
