Good to see more young girls coming up with fishing love and success. Here’s two examples from earlier this month.
Howard Rynberk emailed, “Carly Rynberk catching her first muskie, a 29-incher, a tiger muskie at a local pond.”
Michael Jotzat sent a photo of his daughter Michayla’s solid smallmouth bass from the Fox River.
It feels like a trend is growing in fishing with more girls and young women becoming involved.
I know at the IHSA’s state finals last week, two of the teams were all girls and a smattering of women were coaches and/or boat drivers.
FOTW, the celebration of big fish and their stories (the stories matter, as this one shows) around Chicago fishing, runs Wednesdays in the paper Sun-Times. The online posting here at https://chicago.suntimes.com/outdoors goes up at varied days of the week, depending on what is going on the wide world of the outdoors.
